Each time we step on our mats, whether it’s our first few classes or after years a practice, we have the opportunity to tap into our “beginner’s mind”.  We can choose to approach each pose and movement as if it’s totally new, and without the limiting beliefs and stories we may have created from practicing poses before.  This class series, 6 weeks of different class material, is perfect for true beginners to the yoga practice, as well as those who wish to tap back into their “beginner’s Mind” to approach familiar poses with a fresh approach.Start in any week, no need to begin with week 1.

Week 4: Alternate Nostril Breathing, Boat & Variations, Reverse Table, Bird Dog & Locust variations. Week 5: Butterfly, Thread the Needle, Happy Baby, Waterfall, Knee to Chest & Bridge. Week 6: Restoration, Yin poses & explanation, Yoga Nidra, Meditation & Visualization.

Yin Yoga is a beautiful and restorative class that is a perfect complement to power and flow classes. Yin Yoga allows us to work deeply into postures and eases tension and creates space within. You can expect a practice with a smaller number of gentle poses held for a longer period of time (from 3 to 10 minutes). Yin asks us to yield, allowing our whole selves to become still and alert.

We will conclude our Yin practice with Yoga Nidra. Contemporary, Yoganidra is generally understood as a guided meditation in supine (laying down) position. Nidra has the potential to allow us to enter into a wordless state. Yoganidrā, often referred to yogic-sleep, is sleep-like because it is absolutely free of distraction, asleep to the mundane world but awake to a reality beyond sense objects. Deepen your practice physically and spiritually with this 75-minute class.

This class incorporates the breathing and gentle stretching with the assist of a chair. Students are able to experience the benefits of yoga poses with the safety and security of a chair. This class is taught with gentle guidance and attention to students’ pre-existing conditions. Class ends with relaxation and meditation, leaving you feeling more open and calm.

This class integrates therapeutic and structural yoga techniques to comfortably increase mobility, flexibility and strength. Props are used to support and help alleviate physical imbalances while reducing tension and working with any limitation. Students learn how to breathe more fully, release stress, and even reduce chronic pain while uncovering habits in order to restore the body. Appropriate for ALL students.
