The Kula Community
The benefits of yoga not only come from what we do on the mat but also how we interact with the world away from it.
We invite you to explore some of the people who shape what we do to better understand what inspires us on and off the yoga mat.

Unnata Aerial Yoga
Unnata Aerial Yoga is a carefully developed method of Hatha Yoga that uses the support of a soft, fabric Aerial hammock suspended from the ceiling to enhance and refine a traditional floor Yoga practice.
The Unnata method is more than an Aerial Yoga class. Beyond flips, tricks and pretty poses, the Unnata method teaches deeper body awareness in multidimensional space. Surrendering into the hammock, you’ll gain insight about how you hold your posture, where you’ve held chronic tension, or how you habitually move through space. The Unnata method guides you to unwind old physical patterns, and reset to your body’s true alignment. You can expand flexibility, increase range of motion, build strength, lengthen the spine, and relax the nervous system.
Asana, Evolved
Think you’ve mastered downward-facing dog? Lean into it with the hammock, and you might notice new ah-ha’s about the posture that never would have occured to you in a usual Yoga practice. With the hammock’s hold, gravity’s pull, and your teacher’s guidance, you will realize where you can lengthen and extend, strengthen and support, or soften and release in completely new ways – and then you can apply those same details in your regular floor Yoga practice, too. In an Unnata class, you can access asanas beyond your reach in a traditional yoga class – true inversions, deeper supported backbends, attainable handstands, and cocoon-like savasanas.
You might even explore subtle Yogic teachings that become more accessible with the hammock, including pranayama (breathing exercises), bandhas (ways of directing subtle energy), or moments of meditation in levitation.
Beyond asana in air, Unnata Aerial Yoga guides you to unlock and understand the deeper wisdom of Yoga.
Unnata®. Real Yoga. Elevated.

Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce
The Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce mission is to connect our members and the Cottage Grove Community to help them grow and thrive together.
Kula Yoga & Wellness has been a proud member of the CG Chamber since 2012 when we opened! Kula continues to partner and collaborate with the chamber to bring awareness of what small business has to offer in Cottage Grove. Becky held a seat on the CG Chamber Board of Directors for 6 years (until she “aged-out”!) and was voted Member Volunteer of the Year in 2019.

RajaHatha School of Yoga
The RajaHatha School of Yoga was founded in 2004 by Amy Pearce-Hayden in NY, with a root intent to strengthen the community through individual empowerment and education. Today more than 100 students have graduated from her 200 & 500-hour Yoga Alliance Registered programs. Amy brought RHSOY to Madison in the summer of 2015 where Kula hosted both programs. Becky and Amy (and her own studio Tantra in Madison) continue to partner to offer exceptional teaching and training in and around the Madison area and well beyond.
Students who embark on this life-changing path find both personal and professional reward from the decades of study that Amy brings to her teachings. The philosophy is simple: “Everything is connected. The path to healing lies in uncovering the truth of the present and aligning with it.” Using both modern and ancient yogic application together is the foundation of this school’s curriculum.

Qet Botanicals
We take wellness seriously at Kula and so do the others we choose to align with. Qet offers the BEST skin, hair and body care products and bonus they are LOCAL! Lisa, the founder of Qet, launched her company in april of 2013 right after Kula opened and we met a Women’s Wellness Expo shortly after. I have been using their products since and I’m happy to offer some of Lisa’s wonderful things for you to try at Kula!

tiny blue orange
Kula is proud to align with powerful women – we know a few and are happy to meet more. The visionary behind tiny blue orange is one of those women. Alison manages our awesome website – she does the “scary” world wide web stuff. Becky and Alison met when she came to Kula for class – the universe has a way of connecting 🙂 She has now completed her yoga teacher training through Kula and offers yoga classes at the CrossFit gym she trains with. Powerful women are the best!

Annie Adametz
It really does take a village to run a small business (and really everything else, too)! Anne is one of those villagers that I can’t imagine doing what I do without. She wears many hats and all of them she wears exceptionally well. She’s my acupuncturist and Chinese medicine guide, my essential oil guru and mentor extraordinaire. Did I mention she’s also a damn-fine yoga instructor as well? Trust me – you need Anne in your life.
